š„ 1 medium egg
š 100g breadcrumbs
š„© 500g beef mince 20% fat
šæ 1 teaspoon dried oregano
š§ 1 teaspoon salt
š§ 1/2 teaspoon pepper
š« 3 tablespoons Olive oil for shallow frying
Instructions
1- Prepare the Onion and Herbs:
- Grate the red onion using a handheld box grater.
- Transfer the grated onion into a large stainless steel mixing bowl.
2- Chop and Mix:
- Finely chop the fresh parsley and mint.
- Add them to the bowl with the onion.
3- Combine Ingredients:
- Break the egg into the bowl.
- Add breadcrumbs, beef mince, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
4- Shape the Patties:
- Divide the mixture into 10 equal portions.
- Shape each portion into a flat burger, smoothing the edges with the palm of your hand.
5- Prepare for Frying:
- Heat a Tefal non-stick frying pan over high heat.
- Add enough olive oil to cover the base for shallow frying.
6- Test Oil Temperature:
- Insert a wooden spoon into the oil.
- If it bubbles around the spoon, it's ready for frying.
7- Cook the Burgers:
- Carefully place the shaped burgers into the hot oil, in batches if necessary.
- Fry them for 3-4 minutes on each side until they achieve a crispy, golden-brown texture.
8- Drain Excess Oil:
- Remove the cooked burgers from the pan.
- Place them on a white ceramic plate lined with kitchen roll to drain any excess oil.
