Ingredients
🥩 1 lb Ground Beef
🍶 1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
🍶 2 tbsp Light Soy Sauce
🍶 1 tbsp Mirin
🧄 2 cloves Garlic, minced
🌿 1 tsp Ginger, grated
🍯 1 tbsp Honey
🧂 ½ tsp Black Pepper (freshly ground)
🫒 1–2 tsp Cooking Oil
🍚 2 cups cooked Rice
🌶️ 2 tbsp Sriracha Mayo
🌾 2 tsp Sesame Seeds
🧄 2 Scallions, sliced
Instructions
1- Prepare the Sauce:
- In a bowl, whisk together 1 tbsp dark soy sauce, 2 tbsp light soy sauce, 1 tbsp mirin, 2 minced cloves of garlic, 1 tsp grated ginger, 1 tbsp honey, and ½ tsp black pepper.
- Set aside.
2- Cook the Ground Beef:
- Heat a lightly oiled non-stick frying pan (featuring a honeycomb pattern, no brand visible) over a medium-high heat using an Electrolux induction cooktop.
- Add 1 lb of ground beef to the pan and cook undisturbed for 4 minutes to develop a sear on one side.
3- Break Apart and Continue Cooking:
- Use a silicone spatula to break the ground beef apart.
- Continue cooking for another 2 minutes until it is about 80% done.
4- Add the Sauce:
- Pour the prepared sauce into the pan with the beef.
5- Thicken the Sauce:
- Continue stirring frequently for an additional 2 minutes until the beef is fully coated and the sauce has thickened to a glossy finish.
6- Serve:
- Serve the cooked Japanese BBQ beef over fresh rice in a bowl.
