Chipotle-Style Carne Asada Recipe

Ingredients
🥩 3 lbs Skirt steak, Beef Choice Angus Sirloin Flap Meat Churrasco
🫒 1/2 cup Avocado oil, neutral oil
🧄 5 Garlic cloves
🌿 1 tbsp Cumin
🌶️ 3 tsp La Costeña Diced Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce
🍋 Juice of 1-2 Limes
🍯 2 tbsp Honey
🍙 1 tbsp Great Value Less Sodium Soy Sauce
🧂 1 tbsp Salt
🌿 2 tsp Ground coriander
🌶️ 2 tsp Chipotle chili powder
🌰 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
🌿 1/2 cup Cilantro, plus extra for garnish
Instructions
1- Prepare the Marinade:
- In a Nutribullet, combine avocado oil, garlic cloves, cumin, La Costeña Chipotle peppers, lime juice, honey, soy sauce, salt, ground coriander, chipotle chili powder, cinnamon, and cilantro.
- Blend until smooth.
2- Marinate the Steak:
- Place the skirt steak in a Ziploc bag.
- Pour in the marinade, seal the bag, and massage the marinade into the steak ensuring it is fully coated.
- Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight, in the refrigerator.
3- Cook the Steak:
- Preheat the cast iron pan over medium-high heat.
- Once hot, place the marinated steak in the pan.
- Sear each side for about 2-3 minutes until a nice brown crust forms.
4- Check Temperature:
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the steak’s internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
5- Rest the Steak:
- Remove the steak from the pan and tent it with aluminum foil.
- Allow it to rest for 10 minutes to keep it juicy and tender.
6- Slice and Serve:
- Transfer the rested steak to a cutting board and slice against the grain.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of fresh lime juice.
